Silos Keep Us Secure

One of the latest EOs from the Trump Administration is called, “Stopping Waste, Fraud, and Abuse by Eliminating Information Silos.” Essentially, they want to open all the gates to all the things in the Federal Govt, but especially at the IRS, SSA, and HHS. Oh, and the states.
These organizations have high security nets around them for very good reason. “Undocumented” immigrants pay taxes, and not just in the stores - many are issued ITINs (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) to file an income tax return and properly record their income and pay taxes. The IRS is the only org with access to who files with an ITIN for reasons you might imagine.
The SSA, well, that’s got more income and personal information.
The HHS has a LOT of personal health information.
The states have even more information AND voter systems.
These silos keep us safe, secure, and retain the trust of everyone who contributes to and benefits from the federal government at large. Can you imagine what they could and would do with information on a disabled taxpayer who isn’t a legal resident and voted for Kamala Harris? Or even just… not for Trump?
My script: I’m contacting you today to ask that you make some big noise about the Executive Order titled, “Stopping Waste, Fraud, and Abuse by Eliminating Information Silos.” This EO puts every single taxpayer in this country at risk and is the final nail in the coffin of our ability to have any confidence in the safety of our information. I honestly don’t know much about the mechanisms you have in congress to speak up and speak out, but there has to be something you can do - bring a resolution or lodge a complaint or put someone up for censure or (yet again) introduce a motion to impeach. I honestly also don’t care how fruitless it seems because everyday Americans are out here in the streets making noise and putting their own safety and livelihoods on the line and we are desperate to see the same kind of action from our elected officials.
